Major Hailstorm in the North India and Heavy snow prediction in the Himalayan Valleys between 20-22 Feb 2019

Forecast & Warnings:

The upper level jet-streams will bring cold and dry air from the north-west region.  The moisture flow from Arabian sea along with cold air will bring possible hailstorm and rainfall development across the region. The mountain region will see much of snow in next 2-3 days.  This storm can possibly damage the mustard, wheat crops laregly in the northern Indian belt.

Fairly widespread to widespread rain/snow would occur over Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh; and scattered to fairly widespread over Uttarakhand during next 5 days. However, the intensity of the rain/snow will be high on 20th & 22st February, 2019.

Isolated heavy rain/snow would occur over Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh on 20 th & 22st February, 2019.

Light/moderate isolated to scattered rainfall would occur over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, north Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh during 18th to 22st February, 2019.

Thunderstorm accompanied with hailstorm, lightening & gusty wind at isolated places would occur over Jammu division, lower reaches of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand mainly on 18th, 20th & 21st February; and over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi and north Rajasthan on 20th & 22st February, 2019.
